GKA - Global Kitesports Association

New GKA Board Members Elected

GKA - Global Kitesports Association

The Global Kitesports Association is a formation of most of kitesurfing’s biggest brands, brought together to combine their efforts in unifying the sport, looking after the interests and future of professional riders, solving political issues with different world tours and making sure that kitesurfing remains a free activity on beaches across the world. They’ve just voted in some heavyweights in the key positions! And don’t forget the third round of the GKA Wave & Strapless Freestyle tour kicks off in Mauritius next week! It’s going to be insane, and we’ll be there covering things for you!

The vision of the GKA will remain as the association continues to work consistently towards achieving three main goals:

01: Working to solve controversy in competitive kitesurfing, through a unified approach to supporting and promoting the interests of all (professional) kite riders.

02: All the GKA member brands are particularly focused on supporting ways to maintain free access for all kitesurfers on beaches around the world in harmony with nature. The GKA opposes the prohibition of kitesurfing and aims to work with governments to improve their incorrect perception of the nature of the sport and to help educate them more accurately as to the truly low impact that kitesurfing has on the environment.

03: To continue to work together with all brands to jointly improve the safety of kitesurfing.
