The Kitesurfing Armada went down over the weekend and what a weekend for it! The wind was lighter than last year, but the hordes of kiters still made it work with unreal weather and a whole bunch of on-land activities more than making up for it. Here are some moments from the Armada..

Nick Jacobsen took to the skies once again

Nick’s been off the water for a while after breaking his ankle earlier this year. He’s back in action now though, and celebrated his return to form by hucking a tow-up behind this Gucci-looking luxury motorboat. Watch the video of that on our FB!

Foiling happened (loads of it)

It wasn’t just foiling weather this weekend, but if you were at the event and had any doubt about learning to foil then the Armada will have convinced you. The foilers were out pretty much all day everyday – here’s Danny Morrice getting after it.

Kite legends dropped in

Some big names dropped by. Armada regular Lewis Crathern was hosting the event and geeing up the crowds as per and he even managed to rope in Pete Cabrinha, one of the sports most influential pioneers, to commentate on Nick’s tow-up antics!

Lewis, Tom Court and Aaron Hadlow himself (who now lives on Hayling) were just some of the riders and kiting luminaries who gave talks to the audience about kiting and their careers in the sport.

FESTIVAL VIBES

Live music all weekend – bands all day and DJs well into the wee hours. That heady mix made for some good times (and sore heads).

THERE WAS A SERIOUS AMOUNT OF GEAR TO CHECK OUT

The brands tent was packed with the latest gear from many of the biggest brands in kiteboarding. If you were looking for some inspiration when it comes to picking out a new quiver then there was plenty to choose from!

ROUND TWO OF THE BKC WENT DOWN

The wind was challenging for them on Saturday, but on Sunday the BKC riders were in action! Results from that coming soon..
