The waiting period started on Monday 1st April (and runs through to November 2019) but it already looks like the conditions will be good enough on Saturday 8th June for the most extreme kiteboarding event in the world: Red Bull Megaloop. *16 riders were selected and on stand-by as of from April 1st this year. Yesterday they all received the call and traveled to the Netherlands as fast as they could. Ruben Lenten (injured) and Jesse Richman couldn’t make it and will be replaced by Oswald Smith and Liam Whaley. Kevin Langeree received a wildcard as winner of the Red Bull King of the Air.

Red Bull Megaloop conditions are when the wind hits 30 knots or more and the authorities warn to stay indoors. That’s the time when these world’s best kiteboarders only have one goal: ride hard and fly high.

All riders have been selected by the judges, based on a combination of the ranking of previous editions and the level of riding – in particular mastering the performance of the megaloop, one of the most extreme tricks in kiteboarding. Additionally 4 riders have been selected last year by their video entries.
