Signalling the end of winter and the beginning of a fresh new season, Kiteworld issue 32 will be winging its merry way around the world in March.

Slipping in between the covers will be an exclusive-to-Kiteworld story from North Shore shaper John Amundson. After a 20 year career shaping awesome wave tools, John's skills are second to none. He's got some green dreams too and in a feature in which he recounts his apprenticeship under one of the most formidable shapers in Hawaii's surfing history, he goes on to show us the process of shaping our own wooden surfboards, something he feels very important as we look to a greener, more eco-friendly future.

We stay in Hawaii to interview one of the most progressive and impressive wave kiters. Reo Stevens grew up on the North Shore and in the last 24 months has been storming his way onto magazine covers the world over with his brash, brave and uncompromisingly powerful riding style. Another interview in issue #32 absorbs the grit and passion of Ireland's Ryan Coote. You can be sure of banter and big stories of braving the brutal conditions that this stalwart of the kite scene has become known for.

If you think about why you love kiting, the feeling of freedom it offers you must be right up there on your list. If you've never been snowkiting then our gallery on freedom with insights from those who dedicate their lives to chasing its addictive personality will leave you gasping for the clean airs found in the wide open virgin snow covered space only snowkiting can take you to.

On the gear front we have a surfboard buyers' guide and we investigate Flysurfer's intriguing Jet Flap technology

And Higher Education this issue teaches you how to enter the water like Aaron Hadlow, bust out back-side aerials like Sky Solbach and customise your bar set-up.
