We asked you to fill in an online form or return the carriage slips with the survey on the back if you are a subsciber when you received the magazine. We had responses in the thousands. We've found out more about you and what you want from the magazine. Thank you to all who took the time to take part in shaping the next year of magazines. Here are some interesting results: WORK IN PROGRESS - What you want more of, less of and what we've got just right:

YOUR AGES The breadth of age ranges diving into our pages is each issue has widened, with more younger and more older readers. Gone are the exclusive 30-something beach brigades of a few years ago. It could be to do with safer equipment enticing more people into it, or possibly the growing second hand market, allowing much younger people to get involved. Whatever the reason, it's great to have more people involved, all adding to the flavour of the sport.! | |
WHERE RESPONDENTS CAME FROM You posted and wrote from all over the world, and response areas were generally reflective for where we have most readers.

|
YOUR BOARDS You can never have enough toys. And don't some of you know it! We got some fantastic really detailed responses on all areas of our content from some seriously dedicated kiteboarders

| |
YOUR KITES More toys and straight priorities.

|
YOUR NUMBER OF ANNUAL HOLIDAYS Scoffing at the credit crunch, some of you eat 6 airline meals or more on your way to and from your hot spot kiting fixes.
| NUMBER OF TIMES YOU KITE IN A MONTH Clearly some people are living the dream. It's good to know some people are!

YOUR COMMENTS THAT RAN IN THE MAG THIS ISSUE - #39 We're still trying to fully process the results from our 2009 Readers' Survey. We had over 1000 people fill in the form with various sections. Some people wrote an essay and we think we've found some fantastic new contributors too! Thank you so much to everyone who took part. We will do our best to make sure that each suggestion is taken into account and reflected in the coming issues and over the coming months on www.kiteworldmag.com and www.kiteworld.tv. Kiteboarding is an amazing sport and you're a diverse and dedicated bunch, with interests in all areas of kiteboarding. Here's a little of what we've been getting our heads round...
- More full page photos! - Give us dreams, beautiful pictures and longer galleries, like "Raising Hell"! - Kiteworld has the nicest format of all the mags I read... must have something to do with UK influence! - I always love to read about far away places, especially far away places that have stellar kiting! - Keep it like it is, just have a few different things every now and then. - Not all girls are beginners. - Everyone's got to love Mr Shinn! - The travel segments are great - especially with details similar to the travel guide. - You can't really overdo the technique sections. - Bring in a section for beginners, perhaps - Release it monthly! - More information on the science of boards and kites. - Be cool if you did a bit more on the Irish scene. Coote's had a few articles yes, and sometimes a tiny section in news, but it was always horse shit. - Too much on waves these days... wakestyle, boots and low kites is in! - The surfboard reviews you did at Wittering were spot on. - Good surfing/photo mission articles from contributors like John Bilderback. - The Round Our Way series showcasing the UK riders is great. - The photography in KW is often stunning. That's often the main reason I pick it up over another mag. - Great pictures and good gear tests, but more would be great! - I think the Kiteworld is now ready for a more 'hardcore' overlook. - I like the high quality, coffee table book feel and look of the mag. It's SO glossy and luvlly! - More gritty pics and articles from secret slider parks in stinky mud pits. - I want to see you guys do trips along rugged coastlines looking for untapped potential spots. - The test team are a little vague at times. More tuning options please. - More green awareness and more advanced technique articles - I love the articles about travelling to exotic places that aren't on the kiteboard map. They have a sense of adventure about them - Of course the pictures, the stoke - it's why we ride and when I'm not on the water I want to be seeing awesome high quality pictures. - Have info on cultural things to do when on a kite trip would be great idea as its part of the real travelling experience. - I finally broke down and bought a subscription to your magazine. I just finished reading #36 and I realized you get what you pay for. Keep up the good work. - Cover closer destinations like Europe, Egypt, North Africa etc. - My favourites are the Gallery section, Mark My Words and Motor Drive. - I spend probably 80% of my time looking over the photos. I check 'em, get stoked, ride, try the trick, come back, inspect it over and over, ride again, repeat... - I like the pictures and the layout of the magazine. Love the random moments email as well! - I love that you are a great international mag that covers kiting stuff from around the world. - Best kiting mag by far - more material and better product reviews. - Prob v. hard but be good to find a balance between the mag and online. One is better than the other for certain things obviously but I think the great job done in print can also be done online... - Mark Shinn's column is always good reading. - More female specific articles - like how hard it is to get a harness to fit properly!! - I think your reviews seem to be the most subjective out there and at least have some criticism of the products. - I love having a paper version as well as online - it's always nice to have a hard copy in your hands. - To start the mag is SICK!!! ALWAYS has good up to date articles, news, info and a good selection of photos to get you stoked! Look at any front cover and it's more than enough to pick it up an check it out! - More on landkiting - landboards and snowkiting. - I think you've got it pretty bang on. Always look forward to a good read, when I see the postie's delivered it! Well done fellas. - Make it easy for people in New Zealand to get it in shops! - More freebies like a key-ring, beanie or stickers! - More real world reviews and technique/beginner info. - Change nothing, it's just perfect. - Make it thicker! - More reviews of additional kit, like harnesses etc. - Getting hold of the mag and dreaming of perfect conditions!! - It's all gooood - I like Maybe Tomorrow - Less advertising and more articles on travel, surf and technique - All the reviews are so positive, but it is true that most product now is OK or even good. - Increase the font size in the articles. - Keep wakestyle out! - More California action! - Increase Travel/Wave Ride content. - Reduce advertising. Remove/reduce competition news. - Love the opening pages with gallery photos to bring a word to life - More trip reports from UK. - Visit spots in Argentina. - More interviews with pro, local, up and coming riders etc. - More US news - I liked it when Aaron took over and commented on the photos in one of the editions - that was quite cool. - Real opinions from random surfers not just pros - their opinions matters. Every riders has his unique style and demands so interviews only from pros will guide the review to their own demands. - More female specific articles - like how hard it is to get a harness to fit properly!! - I am from Holland here we have 2 Dutch magazines but the news factor is bad because I have already read it in Kiteworld! - I love kit reviews - I also liked it when you used to do a section on the pros' quivers. - A poster would be cool - More strapless wave riding - This is a good idea - the feedback questionnaire. -Listening to the customer views, concerns and requirements... Please don't let yourself down on this good work. - You still remain the best kite mag produced in the UK.. - Add more advice from pros and feature other kite power based sports. - I think that there is a huge amount of us who are really getting into wave riding and that's where the next big "rush" is - I love hearing it drop through the post box
