CRASHES, SMASHES AND HILARIOUS MUD SPLASHES
Oliver Clatworthy, a 26-year-old freelance designer and kitesurfer will represent our sport on new extreme TV game show, 'Total Wipeout', airing early January 2009.
Oliver lived a bohemian beach-bum life in St. Lucia for the last two years, pushing his level of kitesurfing with great help from his sponsors, Eclipse Kiteboarding and Xelerator boards while living off the land. He became disillusioned with the commercial side of island life and returned back to the UK with nowhere to live and little in the way of any permanent job prospects. After sofa surfing at various friends' flats he applied to enter the Total Wipeout gameshow.
Winning the regional audition, Oliver traveled to Argentina to compete in what is considered to be the most extreme gameshow of its kind in the world. Over the course he battled against injury and 19 other highly aggressive competitors. Representing kitesurfers across the globe, Oliver fought hard against many other sporting professionals.
He's used to taking hard hits and wiping out but did he manage to win the ?10,000 prize money? Show your support and keep your eyes peeled for the first series of Total Wipeout being aired early January on BBC 1.
Word on the beach is that the lad's done really but but has sworn to secrecy by the BBC so as not to ruin the show.
