In 2003 he won the Junior Championship in the UK and realised that kiteboarding had potential for him as a sporting career. After completing his A-levels, Tom took some time out to compete on the PKRA (Professional Kite Riders Association) world tour and gain professional sponsorship. He finished in the top 12 in his first year and has since gone from strength-to-strength, now regularly placing in the top ten. On his day he can take down anyone and always conscious of style and moving the sport forward in a positive way, Tom was recognised for his slider riding prowess and invited as one of 24 of the world's most progressive riders to take part in The Triple S contest in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina – the sport's premier slider riding annual event. Tom also produces videos and writes articles for a number of magazines around the world.
