Mario Rodwald and Sabrina Lutz take the win at the third leg of the MINI Kitesurf Tour Europe Freestyle this week at Scheveningen.
Second ranked Dutch Freestyle rider Annelous Lammerts ended up taking the third place, wasting precious points for the European Freestyle ranking. Also in the men’s division the German Mario Rodwald dominated from the start, extending his lead with a first place at Scheveningen after winning the first two tourstops.
With a full day of spectacular freestyle action, the MINI Kitesurf Tour Europe in Scheveningen came to an end today. With strong, gusty wind Europe’s best freestylers showcased a high level of riding. Spectacular tricks and the sun brought many spectators to the beach of Scheveningen.
Second ranked Annelous Lammerts didn’t perform at her best and was happy to get on the podium at the end of the day, taking the third place after German rankleader Sabrina Lutz and Russian Viktoria Rosinska. " In these difficult circumstances it can go both ways. Today it definitely didn’t go my way, at some point I thought I would even lose my podium place. Fortunately, that didn’t happen " Annelous said. She looks forward to the last tour stop in Barcelona, where the MINI Kitesurf Tour Europe finishes of the year. "If I win at the Barcelona event and Sabrina Lutz loses a lot of ground I could still have a chance on the title." The European Freestyle champion of last year is disappointed: " I obviously wanted to win here."
Johnno Scholte and Sander Bos, shared a fifth place with Mario Rodwald taking first place, followed by French riders Paul Serin and Valentin Garat.
The next tour stop will be held in Barcelona - October 10th - 13th.
