The biggest kitesurfing comp in Ireland is set to hit Dollymount Beach in Dublin on the 5th and 6th June 2010.
Pure Magic kitesurfing, ExPix and IKSA present the annual Battle for the Bay wind festival which will feature the very best of Irish and International kitesurfers and windsurfers on Dollymount Strand in Dublin.
The festival programme includes the Irish Kitesurfing Championship freestyle competitions which should see international champion Eamon Armstrong battle for the right to retain his title against young guns Sean Murphy and Ross Harte. The 2009 ladies' champion, Dominika Kupciw will also be fighting to defend her title against a growing list of female competitors. In addition to Irish riders an international fleet of kitesurfers are expected to attend including riders from England, Wales, and Germany which will put pressure on the Irish riders to keep the titles where they are.
There will also be plenty of activities on the beach to keep the crowds entertained including stand up paddle demonstrations and introductions, stunt kite & powerkite demonstrations, introductory kite lessons with qualified instructors and various beach games such as volleyball. Visitors will also be able to check out the latest kitesurfing gear and enjoy the BBQ and food and drink stalls, all whilst relaxing to the sounds of international DJ's who will be joining the festivities for the Red Bull Team.
Last year's festival was a huge success and provided great entertainment for visitors to Dollymount Strand and this year's festival promises to be even bigger, featuring action to suit everyone from young to old!
