PKRA Holland 2012 This Week
Registration day in Scheveningen, Holland, provided the many PKRA riders and spectators a taste of what is to come - consistent winds blowing through the event site and a definite chill in the air. With the sprawling event grounds laid out in perfect form, riders arrived to what will clearly be one of the biggest and most impressive events of the year. Local favorites such as Youri Zoon and Kevin Langeree returned to the familiar spot with a seeming sense of calm, while others including top-ranked freestyle rider, Bruna Kajiya, and the Brazilian sensation, Eudazio Da Silva introduced themselves to their surroundings, appearing very confident and excited for the O'Neill Kiteboard World Cup to begin. American racers Bryan Lake and Adam Koch also attended registration with obvious anticipatory enthusiasm, as did PKRA frontrunners Ricardo Lecesse and Julian Kerneur. These competitors look forward to strong wind on the first day of competition, matched with possible showers and a decreasing wind trend throughout the day. The rest of the week is expected to fluctuate from strong to lighter winds in varied directions.
At this event, 14 women and 48 men will make up the 62 total competitors, representing 22 nationalities. With the best kiteboarding talent in the world, the O'Neill Kiteboard World Cup 2012 will certainly provide a full range of nail-biting action, comprised of the biggest names, the best tricks, the fastest speeds, and one of the most amazing kiting locations in Europe.
