New world record!

Francisco Lufinha had his dream come true.

He survived on a surfboard for 27 hours and 40 minutes, covering about 307.5 miles.

This exciting adventure started on the Douro river and ended in Marina de Lagos, Algarve. The Mini Kitesurf Odyssey finished in a stylish way, with Francisco Lufinha arriving in the Marina around 9pm.

This young kiter flew along the Portuguese coast and beat a world record that was 199 miles helded by an American, Rimas Kinka.

Exhausted but also extremely happy, he was applauded by hundreds of people in Marina de Lagos.

In the end, he felt that all was worth it.

"The most difficult moment was off the coast of Sines with GPS stopped at 197 miles and no wind. I am very pleased to have successfully completed this trip. "
