The feelings of the KPWT overall women's discipline champion 07

Five minutes with Germany's dominant female, Kristin Boese

What is your best souvenir from the KPWT 2007?
I had a lot of fun on the KPWT tour this year and my memories of the competitions, places and many nice people are a great souvenir. The very best one would for sure be the huge "Teri Trophy" for the overall world title that I got in Noumea.
It is huge and it wasn't easy getting it home, but it's beautiful and will get a special place in my home.

What was your best/most difficult heat of the season?
My heats in the competition in Italy (Lago di Como) were by far the most difficult. I was sick and burning up with a fever at 39 degrees. I was really weak. Thanks to my dear team mate Clinton Bolton, I only needed to come to the beach for one heat at a time and he took care of my equipment. The best heats were probably in Brazil. It was fun to compete in the great winds and the constant conditions and easy to pull off my better moves.

Where is your favorite spot to kite?
I really enjoy kiting different spots and am travelling the world to be able to do so. I don't have one favorite kite spot, but  there are many spots I really like. I really like riding waves on Maui for example, and for flat water I enjoy the lagoons in Ceara/Brazil a lot. There are just so  many great spots out there and it is fun to explore them!

How do you feel about the getting the overall World Championship title?
I am very, very happy about the World Championship title, especially because the Overall ranking was so tight right up until the very last minute and was all decided in the last competition of the year. 2007 was also the first year that there has been an overall World Champion title, and that obviously makes it even more special to me! But I was also very stoked to be able to become 2007 wave and race World Champion. I have really been getting into wave riding and racing more and more and am really enjoying these disciplines as I've only really competed in freestyle before. I love the variety of kiteboarding and am more than happy that I was able to do well in a variety of disciplines.

You have now firmly established yourself as a world class competitor, crossing over to the KPWT as the PKRA World Champion the year before. What are your plans/goals now for 2008?
After a long and busy season I need to give my body a little break. Next season I would like to do the KPWT wave, racing and freestyle tours again and compete in the overall ranking. Already I can't wait to see everybody again at the beginning of next season!
