On the last day of competition everybody on the beach was thrilled with the Ideal conditions from the begining of the event. No one can wait until next year to come back!
The 2008 Vendée Kitesurf Pro will definitely stay in everybody’s memory with 50 competitors coming from all around the world from over 20 nationalities, including Australia, France, Dominican Republic, USA, Norway, UK and more.
Four disciplines were run over six days, including freestyle, wave, course racing and best trick. Numerous trophies were handed out after an extraordinary show.
At the beginning of this season new talents have arrived on the Kiteboard Pro World Tour to shake the top rankings.
The American Hawaïian, Jesse Richman, is astonishing : just 15 and already winner of one event of the KPWT ! Allso deserving many congratulations is Mitu Monteiro from Cabo Verde for his excellent performances ! The organisers would also like to thank the riders who came from Cabarete for their great spirit and talent.
On the women's side, Kirsty Jones from the UK has made an incredibly strong start in the waves, but it was Ania Grzelinska from Poland who really stood out all through the competition.
Judging from the results of this first event, we can expect an exciting 2008 season on the KPWT world tour.
