Kiteboard Open 2010

22nd - 24th May, Noordwijk, The Netherlands

Kiteboard Open is the second official stop on the Kitesurf Tour Europe. Attracting pro riders, amateurs, enthusiasts and members of the general public alike, the Kiteboard Open (KBO) in Noordwijk, is the largest kitesurfing event in The Netherlands. This year will be the sixth edition which will be held over the Whitsun weekend. It is expected to become a massive hit once again.

Kitesurfers can compete in two categories: Freestyle and Course Racing, and cash prizes of €5,000 and €2,500 can be won respectively. Points earned go towards determining the athletes' rankings on the European tour for the European Championships.

World Champion Kevin Langeree and Ruben Lenten will be at the event for some meet and greets. There will also be kitesurf clinics, surfing, SUP and a large trampoline for you to practise your handle pass technique on. For those who are new to kiting there will be stalls and walkthroughs to get you well on your way. Capping things off on the Sunday will be a huge party featuring the best DJ's going on until the early hours.

The event is free to all of those who get a kick from the beach, waves and sea, and want to become acquainted with this spectacular, rapidly developing sport.
