The stage is set for the KiteFoil Gold Cup tour finale in Sardinia
International Kiteboarding returns to the beautiful Poetto Beach in Cagliari, Sardinia, where the World Championship Racing event was held in 2012. This time the IKA will host the IKA KiteFoil Gold Cup World Championships Final!
It’s the final event on this year’s tour, the one that will assign the world title, for a tour that has already visited Korea, France and China twice this year. The IKA event will take place at a spot called ‘Esercito’, managed by the Italian Army, and will organized by Gian Domenico Nieddu of GLE Good Looking Entertainment in cooperation with Yacht Club Cagliari. The City Hall of Cagliari and the Sardinia Region are sponsoring the event.

Sixty riders are expected from all over the world but the biggest contingent will come from France where kite foiling exploded. Total prize money will reach €20.000.
The reigning world champion Maxime Nocher (from Montecarlo) will have to match a strong French team including the vice world champion Nico Parlier and Axel Mazella. Theo Lhostis from France and the British brothers Guy and Olly Bridge are also in with a solid chance with just a few points between them. The Italian fans will no doubt be cheering on Riccardo Leccese but they’ll also be hoping for a solid performance from Simone Vannuci, Mario Calbucci and Andrea Beverino.
In the ladies fleet, leader Dani Moroz from the US will try to retake the world title but has to watch out for Russian dynamo Elena Kalinina.
