2009 Kite Speed Worlds

Port Saint-Louis
The 2009 Kitespeed Worlds will be hosted in Port Saint Louis du Rhone from 29 March - 05 April. Plage Napoleon offers nuking winds during spring - which last year got up to 60 knots and blasted the riders down the 500m course. Registration is open from now on at www.speedworldcup.com/chronocontact/2.html
The elite of kitespeed are expected to take part in this battle, including world record holder and local, Alexandre Caizergues, Sebastien Catellan - the first man over 50 knots ever - and hot shot Robert Douglas from the USA.
On the womens' side, the tustle will be close between world record holder, Sjoukje Bredenkamp (RSA) and defending world champion Charlotte Consorti (FRA).
A complete overview of all speed events for 2009 is available at http://www.speedworldcup.com/events-2009.html
Women's world record holder, Sjoukje Bredenkamp is interviewed in Kiteworld issue #38, out in March.
Alex Caizergues also features in that issue, giving tips on how to survive a wipeout!
