Sebastian Bubmann demos a krypt; a railey landing toe-side, also known as a railey with a frontside 180.

You can do this trick hooked in or unhooked - the principles are the same as for the railey, so study that move first. The only differences come after the mid-point of the trick where you have to adjust your movements so you come in to land toe-side.

Often riders will learn the railey in one direction and find the krypt difficult as you end up coming in on your weaker side. So either learn the railey both ways, or practice landing your regular jumps to toe-side so you become really strong in that position.

• Come in with speed, bar in close, edge hard, stamp on your back foot, lift your front foot to get the board vertical and release.

• As you take off, let your body extend out as you do for the railey, but this time start thinking about rotating your shoulders in towards your front hip.

• As you reach the apex, you should spot your landing, rotate your body and pull the bar towards your back leg/hip.

• As you’re about to descend, take your front hand off the bar to help open up your body for landing to toe-side. This will also help you become stable when you land.

• Absorb the landing with bent knees and head downwind towards the kite as usual.

• Ride towards the kite, grab hold of the chicken loop, hook yourself back in and ride away.
