THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY #03
Basically, the title fit with the theme of not very cleverly matching words to the days of the week for our Daily Doses features. This week, we'd like you to give a little thought to those guys and girls out there in Hawaii, suffering from salty ears, red eyes from the sun, chaffing and calloused palms from so many hours toiling in the surf to fill our kitesurfing dreams or to create marvellous new gear for us to ride.
It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it and in two videos this week we meet a few of the most talented and conscientious grafters of them all.
John Bilderback Profile
First up a video profile on Kiteworld staff photographer John Bilderback. John has had a huge career as a renowned surf photographer on Hawaii's North Shore, but for the last ten years has really focussed on kiting and his work regularly graces the covers of magazines around the world. His understanding of his craft is very inspiring and we just love working with him.
Soul Surfers put together some fantastic extended profiles with really interesting characters, and this is certainly one of them. So sit back and let JB's words wash over you as you enjoy some of his best work.
DRIFTING NORTH SHORE HAWAII
Pete Cabrinha must be loving his wave team at the moment, particularly KSP World Champion Keahi de Aboitiz and Reo Stevens, two of the hottest strapless chargers who also share his passion for driving surf style forward in the best waves. This is a fantastic video with a little background on the team, their vision for wave kiting in the future and of course some sweet wave action! Great vid, enjoy.
