Windtown Watersports Center Langebaan are based in the center of Langebaan village and 150 meters from the Main Beach. IKO certified kitesurf lessons run all year for all levels. The shop provides you with the newest gear of North, ION and Fanatic. Due to the direct connection with the importer, the whole range of these brands is available. In addition to kitesurfing, SUP and windsurfing are offered, as well as trendy watersports accessories, spares and clothing. There's also second hand equipment on offer.

How long have you lived around Cape Town?
When people come into the shop and want to know about the history of kitesurfing in this area, what stories do you tell them?
Right from the start of kitesurfing, Langebaan became a favourite spot around Cape Town because of the flat water and the reliable wind. Kitesurf schools from Cape Town come to Langebaan to teach. Now there are several permanaent Langebaan based kitesurf schools.

When does the magic happen?
From October until April.
If you could choose one kite and one board to ride here all year what would it be and why?
9m North Evo with a freestyle board.
The wind varies in strength, but with the 9m there's always a part of the day to have a good kite session.
If you had to choose one spot to ride in Langebaan, which would it be and why?
Shark Bay, because of the butter flat water and its magical surroundings with crystal clear blue water and white sandy beach.
There are quite often waves in Langebaan. What are your top tips for riding in and around waves and dealing with them?
In Langebaan there are 2 nice wave spots. One is between Main Beach and Cape Sports. The other one is at Mykonos Beach. Both have very easy glassy line sets of waves.
Lots of the world's best riders visit Langebaan each year. Who is your favourite to spend some time watching and why?
Johnno Scholte was here this year and he taught for us. His techniques are incredible.
If you had one tip that you could give to someone visiting this area to make their trip even better, what would it be?
Stay in the middle of the town, so all facilities (restaurants, shops, beach, etc) are at walking distance.
Describe your perfect day in Langebaan.
Healthy breakfast. Morning mountain bike tour through the Westcoast National Park along the Langebaan Lagoon. Dip in the pool at Windtown. Lunch at Breeze Restaurant. Kitesurf all afternoon. BBQ and drinks at Windtown.
Where serves the best after-session beer?
If a customer walks into the shop saying they've had too much kitesurfing and need a day off to do something else, what do you recommend?
