ONE My dad is my inspiration. He was a grass track bike racer and my first experience was on a trials bike attempting to jump over a log that was half the size of me. I got thrown over the handle bars as I accelerated into a tree. I was seven-years-old.
TWO Never let your mates jump start your motorbike when they don't know what they're doing.
THREE You are what you do repetitively.
FOUR Everyone should have an active sport of some sort in their life.
FIVE My mum has been only person ever to have cut my hair.
SIX I think making boards must contain a hidden addictive drug.
SEVEN VW Transporters are for short people.
EIGHT I look like a Peperami.
NINE Guns don't kill, people do.
TEN Giving 110% is impossible; it doesn't exist.
ELEVEN You will never really know if you are right or wrong.
TWELVE There is a lot of talk and not enough action in kiteboarding.
THIRTEEN What Worthing Pier looks like from the air.
FOURTEEN Jumping piers is not a day-to-day activity and I have learnt that patience is a virtue. Jumping Worthing Pier had been a goal for a long time and it was well worth the wait.
FIFTEEN Spring Heeled Jack does exist.
SIXTEEN The key to jumping big is wanting to jump big.
SEVENTEEN Chasing your kite down the green when it's 30mph in just your pants might be funny, but it isn't fun!
Jake Scrace, 25, Worthing, has been kiting since 1999, he has experienced a variety of aspects within the kiting community, however, now enjoys kiting as a free rider. He chooses to ride the way he does because he likes to get the most out of what he does, trying to find new things, and different ways to push himself. He thinks this is a bit of an adrenaline addiction. The jumping of Worthing Pier has been one of his goals and he has now realised that it was well worth waiting for!
