Foils used to be for the crazies, now it seems they are the weapon of choice for the racers in these videos
Over in the USA the foil boarding craze for racing is lighting up. Johnny Heineken whipped a fleet of class sailors in an iconic race in San Francisco recently (the Ronstant Bridge to Bridge) on his highly efficient foil board, set a new lap record and gave legitimacy to the fact that this second wave of foiling in kiting looks here to stay for longer than when Furness, Trow and co were strapping led weights to the bottom of their boards several years ago.
These videos, especially the first one from Johnny give a wonderful, pracitical insight into what it's like to ride these finely balanced machines.
