There lots of things off the water in and around Rio. Where not take the adventure to the surrounding Araruama, Arraial, Buzios or Cabo Frio districts and towns. Or visit the marvellous Lake District located at the east of Rio to practising local activities that include Capoeira, the Brazilian dance / martial art. You can hike through lush forests, visit art galleries and theatres or take a trip to the worlds largest football stadium (capacity - 200,000) where Pele scored his 1000th goal way back in 1969. And when the lights go down you'll be spoilt for choice for bars and nightclubs to go to. GETTING THERE:
From the airport you can catch a bus or hire a car. There is an airport shuttle bus every hour which stops at major hotels and beaches.

EATING OUT:
There is a huge choice of cafes and restaurants available on every corner, however to really taste the authentic cuisine make sure you sample the traditional Rio food - Beans and Feijoada or Bacalhau.
