 Conventional skim boards offer incredible lightwind performance but can be a handful if the water is choppy because they are just not designed with kiting in mind. Introducing the kiteboarding specific skim board is Nobile. An inexpensive insurance against turning up to the beach and not having enough wind to ride it has a massive width of 50.5cm, yet is only 130 long, so it rides in virtually no wind! It's small, thin, light and practical enough to fit in the car. The best part? The wonga. It's cheap enough to consider owning as a second board.
Oh, and they don't have footstraps! It may seem a bit alien, but they are wide, low power boards and very easy to ride, so don't really need them. The question is...is the wind in your spot good enough NOT to need one?
