Where to Kite - Beach Guide
The location you choose to learn to kitesurf is extremely important. Beaches with flat, shallow water and steady  cross-shore winds are fantastic for learning Worldwide Directory Find the best local beach for learning by asking the local kiteboarding shop/school . If there is a local kitesurfing school, it is likely that there will be a beach nearby that is suitable for learning. Make the most of your sessions by  checking with local riders for the information you need to time them when the conditions are best and check whether there are any local kitesurfing area restrictions. Kiting at an unsuitable beach is dangerous and will slow down your progression.

Your progression as a kitesurfer will be vastly increased by riding in the right conditions, and there are no real hard and fast rules - some spots are best at low tide, some at high tide and the only way to find when your spot works best is to ask the local riders, shop or school.

The Kiteworld Travel Guide that has been reprinted for 2008 provides information about popular kitesurfing beaches world-wide.
