2008 Kites

EH Rippehr 10m

THE HYPE:
Eric Herstens has designed the Ripper 08 for the more progressive rider looking for a fast turning, ultra-flat bow kite. Throw away the rule book, this is an advanced third generation bow kite, and whatever you may have heard, this one is being billed as the ultimate for unhooked moves. The Ripper sits fully powered right in the sweet spot of the wind window, delivering smooth power control and a massive 18 knots wind-range per kite. Even the worst conditions will feel like a good day. Turn the power on and boost your brains out.

TEST TEAM SUMMARY:
The Ripper has a real C kite feel – quick, direct steering and looping and it was simple to set-up, working straight out of the bag. The only thing that would be an issue with cold hands would be the very small valve nipples. The power delivery was smooth as you sheeted in and out, hang-time was good and it performed and handled well unhooked. The bar set-up wasn't up to the same standard as the rest of the kite and we thought it could have been finished a little more tidily by hiding some of the plastic bits and pieces. The kite comes with a spare chicken line. Overall, this is a real treat of an all-round performance SLE kite and a safe bet for any rider
